Independent: Students will take Cornell notes on Monologues and Rehearsal from the book, "Acting from Young Actors" Collaborative: I will break students into groups and give them a script. They will have to assign roles, annotate the script, block movement, and perform the script at the end of class. Students will also do several "pair and share"s throughout the period to summarize what they've learned and ask clarifying questions of their partner. Independent: Students will work to revise their "Write Your Own Monologue," based on peer unbiased feedback. These monologues will be voted on to be performed in the fall showcase. Collaborative: I will show the class several student sample examples of written monologues. I will ask specific questions for each monologue as discussion pieces for the class. As a class, we'll critique the monologues. Students will also do several "pair and share"s throughout the period to summarize what they've learned and ask clarifying questions of their partner. Then, they'll compare and contrast their annotations with those in their group. Next, they'll analyze the monologue by completing the character analysis Google doc.
