Objective:
Students will be able to analyze the character in the monologue through the use of professional character analysis methods. Do Now: Students will work independently to answer a prompt projected on the board (minimum of 5 complete sentences). Whole Class: I'll take a few moments to remind students of the following:
Independent: -Assignment 1: Continue to memorize/practice your monologue.
-Assignment 2 (if you haven't already): Map out any potential blocking/stage business during your monologue by writing it down on your script.
-Assignment 3: Go to Google Classroom and open up "Emma Stone Biography: The Road to Stardom"
-Assignment 4: (if you finish early) Review the following Quizlet for basic Theater acting terms. Collaborative: Part 1: Students will engage in several acting exercises aimed at developing believable characters and refining their monologue performance. Part 2: Students will practice acting out/rehearsing their monologue out, with movement, from memory, to an elbow partner. Whole Class: Students will perform their monologues, from memory, to the class. We'll also watch several examples of sketch comedies today. If there is extra time at the end of class: students will read the assigned article "Forget Something? Sleep on It" on Achieve 3000. Exit Ticket: Fill out and submit Google Form (<- click there).
