Objective:
Students will be able to recall the characters and plot of Macbeth, in addition to, being able to identify and discuss the themes in the play. Do Now: Students will work independently to answer a prompt projected on the board (minimum of 4 complete sentences). Whole Class: I'll take a few moments to inform/remind students of the following:
Students will review a series of handouts they received last class outlining the major events, superstition of the play, and the characters in the play Macbeth. Independent: Login to PowerSchool and check your grade in Drama. Based on what your needs are, decide what to do from the options below. -Option #1: Makeup Achieve Article: If one of your Achieve scores is less than ideal, choose another article to read to replace your score.
-Option #2: Makeup missing work for half credit: Based on what is missing in PowerSchool, use this time to complete it.
-Option #3: Makeup Achieve Thought Question for half credit: -Option #4: Shakespeare Fun When you finish with everything, quiz your knowledge of Shakespeare on this site. Collaborative: Students will track the text as they watch a professional performance of Macbeth or they will select characters to read out loud, as the class continues the play Macbeth. Students will complete comprehension questions every act. Additionally, they'll do several "pair and share"s throughout the period to summarize what they've learned and ask clarifying questions of their partner.
